No matter the season (apart from the winter) women can’t get enough of showing off their legs! We can literally throw on a pair shorts and some boots and go on our way. Oh, and of course people love to stare. Nothing can quite compare to the sight of a woman with nice legs— except for a woman with hairless legs.
Admit it ladies: removing hair from your legs has been a chore since the beginning of our forever. Even if you don’t have a guy touching them, no one likes the sight of fur growing on their limbs. So, what do you do? You could do the traditional razor thing. Despite how glamourous women make it seem on television, razors are no fun. Not only can you risk cutting yourself if the blade is too sharp, but you also will start to feel prickly in a matter of days. So much for silky smooth legs. And who truly has time to shave every other day? Most of us don’t.
You may even think about using chemical creams or get a wax. Chemical creams are nice… for about a week. Then your back at prickly-ville USA. Not to mention that anything that disintegrates hair off of your body cannot be the safest way to get it off. So what does that leave? Waxing? Can get to be costly. Oh, but there’s still hope: the best epilator for legs.
The epilator is the one of those things that many have heard of but not many people are willing to try. Allow me to ease your anxiety: epilating is probably the best way to safely remove hair while achieving maximum results. They come in all shapes, sizes, and even colors. Because the legs are the most common thing that women get shaved, you will have a lot of options to choose from. Not sure which option is best for you? Well, that’s okay. We’re going to put together a list of the top 5 epilators that can be used on the legs so that hopefully you can make a pretty informed decision.
Unlike other area, the legs are probably the least painful part of your body. You can probably take a little more pain here than you can on other areas, so it’s not a bad idea to find an epilator with a few more tweezers. Also, because you’ll be covering a much wider area, getting a bigger epilator with a large head could prove to be beneficial. Below are the top rated epilators that are available today.
Epilator #1 The Braun Silk Epil 7
This epilator is probably the top selling product out there for hair removal. We already know how prominent Braun is in the beauty industry, and they truly have created a product that has addressed all of our needs into one convenient package. It has 40 tweezers on its pivoting head, making it a happy medium between efficacy and gentleness. The head’s rotation allows for you to get to all parts of your body, including those legs! It also has a wet/dry setting meaning that it can be used cordlessly. The Braun Silk-Epil 7 is a feature-packed whole body device. It is cordless and can be used dry or wet.
The Braun Silk Epil 7 has other features that make it great for the legs. It has a smart light so that you can get even the finest of hairs. In addition to the light, the epilator has a massager to help alleviate any discomfort you experience while removing your leg hair. It has a total of 5 caps, so when your done with your legs, then you can move on to other areas. Whether you’ve been epilating your entire life or you’ve only just started today, this epilator is an excellent choice.
Epilator #2 The Emjoi AP-18 “Emagine”
If you’re looking for an affordable epilator with a lot of power, then the Emjoi Emagine is a great place to start. It is a little bulky, but you can bet that you’ll be covering a lot of space with this bad boy. It has 72 tweezers, more than any other epilator that we have ever reviewed. One pass is all you should need to get the hair off of your legs. Because of its ability to grab even the coarsest hair, it’s also a good option for your male counterparts. Can you say kill two birds with one stone?
As an interesting fact, the Emjoi Emagine is the first epilator in the world to offer what is called Silver Ion Technology. In other words, if you use this epilator, there’s absolutely no possible way that you can get an infection. For germophobes and women who have had to deal with ingrown hairs, this is huge.
One major downside to using this model is that it can only be used on dry skin. However, being able to get rid of hair in 5 minutes may be worth the dry sacrifice. Its powerful, hygienic, and quick.
Epilator #3 The Philips HP6576 Satin Perfect Deluxe Epilator
This is by far the best epilator that can be used on the legs. It has a wide range of features that make it a champion in the world of epilation. It has 32 ceramic, hypo-allergenic tweezers that will not rust or bend, and has the ability to remove the tiniest of hairs straight from the root. Another interesting feature is a hair lifter. This is actually the first time I’ve noticed this feature. Basically, the epilator has a vibrator on it that makes the hairs stand straight up while you epilate which makes it easier to grip.
The Philips HP6576 has other features that make it competitive with others in its price range. For example, it has a stretch bar that helps to pull the skin taunt during the epilation process. Like other high quality epilators, this one also has a spot light, massage tool, dual speed controls, and a pivoting/washable head. Like the first one, this epilator is cordless; however, it does not do so well in showers. The epilator isn’t waterproof, but it still is a force to be reckoned with.
Compared to the previous models, it is the least painful while still providing the best results. As a bonus, it also comes with an extra pair of tweezers with a spotlight, contour head, shaver, trimmer, and a mirror.
Epilator #4 The Panasonic ES-ED90-P Wet/Dry Epilator
This epilator is another two in one special. It is not only an epilator, but a shaver as well. The Panasonic ES-ED90-P has 6 snap-on attachments that not only remove hair, but help to give yourself a nice pedicure as well. The dual disc on the epilator is wide which mean that it is perfect for removing hair that you have on your legs. It also has gentler heads that can be used for other more sensitive areas as well. As a bonus, it also has a wet/ dry function making it convenient to remove hair anytime or in bath or shower. The product also has a built-in smart light and can be cleaned easily by being run under water.
Epilator #5 The Philips Satinelle HP6401
Although this epilator has been used in other reviews, it so good for legs that it deserves to be mentioned again. The Philips Satinelle has 21 hypoallergenic tweezers which means that its sensitive enough to not be terribly painful during the hair removal process. Like most of the more expensive epilators, it has two speeds and is not cordless.
The primary reason for including this epilator in the leg list is because of the price. The previous epilators we have looked at have been near the $100 range. For a few more passes, you can use this one for a lot less. If you’re looking for a great epilator that can get the job done but are a bit apprehensive about spending a lot of money on something that you’ve had very little experience with, then the Philips Satinelle is definitely for you.
Now you’ve seen the cream of the crop in regards to best epilators that are best used on the legs. Although it was close, if we’re looking at everything overall, we are going to go with the Philips Satinelle and Philips Satin Perfect Deluxe for best epilator for legs. While the Satin Perfect Deluxe is probably the best, you can get similar results with the Satinelle making it tie for first place. Essentially, almost all epilators could work well for your legs. It’s just the point in determining how much pain you can take and how quickly you want to get the hair removed.
